A message template is a pre-approved message that lets you reach customers on WhatsApp โ especially when you’re starting the conversation (like with a campaign or broadcast). It must be reviewed and approved by WhatsApp before you can use it.
โ Two Ways to Create a Template #
๐ ฐ๏ธ Option 1: Use a Pre-Installed Template #
Flowbee.io gives you a library of ready-made templates for common use cases like greetings, offers, alerts, and seasonal promos.
Hereโs how: #
- Go to the Templates section
- Click the Pre-Installed tab
- Browse templates by category (e.g., Greetings, Promotions)
- Click Use Template on the one you like
- A preview popup opens โ make changes if needed
- Click Save
- The template will appear in Your Templates tab and show a status like โPendingโ or โApprovedโ
๐ Once approved by WhatsApp, youโll be able to use it in your campaigns and broadcasts.
๐ ฑ๏ธ Option 2: Create a New Template from Scratch #
If you want full control over your message, you can build a custom template from the ground up.
Step-by-Step: #
- Go to Templates
- Click the + New Template button (top-right corner)
- Fill in the top fields:
- Template Name โ for your reference (e.g., โmaydiscountโ)
- Phone Number โ select the number connected to Flowbee
- Category โ e.g., Marketing, Utility, OTP
- Language โ choose the message language (e.g., English)
(Optional) Add a Broadcast Title #
- You can choose to attach:

- ๐ผ๏ธ Image
- ๐ฅ Video
- ๐ Document
- This will appear above your message
Add Message Content #
- Body: Type your message content (max 1024 characters)
- You can use emojis, formatting (bold, italic), and variables like
{{name}}
to personalize messages

Add Buttons (Optional) #
- Choose from:

- Add up to two buttons to drive engagement
Final Step: Preview & Save #
- On the right, youโll see a live WhatsApp-style preview

Your template will now show up in the Your Templates tab with one of the following statuses:
