If your phone number has already been used with the WhatsApp Business App or another API provider, youβll need to remove or release it before connecting it to Flowbee.
This step is important because Meta only allows one platform per number, and your number must be free to link it with Flowbeeβs WhatsApp Business API.

β Why Do I Need to Remove the Number? #
Youβll need to do this if:
- Your number is currently used in the WhatsApp Business App
- It was previously connected via another API provider (like Twilio, 360dialog, Gupshup, etc.)
- Itβs already registered under a different Meta Business Account
Flowbee wonβt be able to proceed with Meta connection unless the number is released.
π Step 1: Identify the Current Usage #
First, find out how the number is currently used:
- WhatsApp Business App?
β Youβll need to delete the account from the app. - Another API platform?
β Youβll need to contact that provider to release the number.
π§Ή Step 2: Remove the Number from WhatsApp #
Choose one of the following based on your case:
β Option 1: Delete from WhatsApp Business App #
If you’re using the WhatsApp Business App on your phone:
- Open the WhatsApp Business App
- Go to:
Settings > Business Tools > Account > Delete My Account
- Follow the steps to delete the account linked to your number
β οΈ Warning: This will permanently erase all chats and business profile data. Proceed only if you’re ready to fully migrate to Flowbee.
β Option 2: Contact Your Previous API Provider #
If your number was connected through another provider (e.g., Twilio, Kaleyra, etc.):
- Contact their support team
- Ask them to unassign your number from their WABA (WhatsApp Business Account)
- Wait for confirmation that the number has been released
Once theyβve removed the number, youβre free to continue onboarding in Flowbee.
π Step 3: Try Connecting Again in Flowbee #
Now go back to Flowbee:
- Go to the Dashboard or Settings
- Click Connect to Meta
- Follow the onboarding steps to verify and assign your number
If your number is now clean, the process will move forward without errors.
